Jared Radkiewicz represents clients in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications and in post-grant proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He has a range of industry and legal experience with software, electronics, and image and data compression technologies.
Before joining Banner & Witcoff, Jared practiced at an IP specialty firm in Washington, D.C. There, he represented a range of clients from startups to the largest internet companies in both patent preparation and prosecution and post-grant proceedings. His clients developed technologies in the software, networking, telecommunications, image compression, and electronic devices areas, among others. Jared gained experience representing petitioners in ex parte reexamination, inter partes review (IPR), covered business method (CBM), and post grant review (PGR) proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB).
Before law school, Jared was a software engineer and gained experience with a range of modern software development paradigms and architectures. He worked both as a consultant for large publicly held companies as well as with several startups to develop custom software on various web, desktop, and mobile platforms.
Jared also previously served as a patent examiner at the USPTO. While at the USPTO, he examined patent applications in the image analysis arts relating to biometrics, image compression, biomedical imaging, pattern recognition, and learning systems. Jared also wrote patentability opinions for Patent Cooperation Treaty international patent applications for the USPTO in a wider range of technologies.
